There are many causes of teeth loosening, the treatment depends on the cause.
Here MIDC will summarize the causes and their treatment.

CausesTreatment

Gum (Periodontal) Diseases

causes loss of bone that supports the teeth with subsequent loose teeth.

The first step is to prevent further bone loss by doing scaling and root planning. After this initial treatment, loosening is re-evaluated for teeth splinting or even periodontal surgery.

Accidents Or Trauma

It is very important to visit a dentist immediately after an accident.

The loose teeth are repositioned to their original place, splinted by being bonded to adjacent fixed teeth.

Bruxism (Tooth Grinding)

Trauma on the teeth from constant grinding can make them loose.

Treating the grinding action will aid; then teeth splinting is the treatment of choice

Orthodontic treatment

The pressure of the orthodontic wires widens the ligaments holding the teeth making it loose in their sockets.

This mobility is temporary, will disappears after the braces are removed.

Partial dentures

Partial dentures are held in the mouth by hooking on existing teeth. The constant pushing and pulling on the anchor teeth may cause these teeth to become loose.

This is a permanent damage to the teeth that necessitates replacing the removable partial denture with Fixed Appliance or Implants.

Dental Abscess

The pressure of the dental abscess from the bottom of the tooth root causes loosening.

Considered as temporary loosening that will subside after Root Canal Treatment
